It feels like she is talking to you about her day, about her life, and her experiences. The writing style is really personal in the way that it feels like she is there with you, reciting her poetry. The author uses simple words to bring to life complex emotions. This collection conveys emotions I never had the words to articulate. Difficult and sensitive topics have been dealt with poise and unabashed honesty. They are real, they are honest and they talk about things we have all been through. The pain, the love, the heartache, and the healing, all feels raw and real. There is nothing fancy or made up about the poems. Once I began this book I could not put it down. It is safe to say that the book came through and how. I was apprehensive about reading it at first because I wasn’t sure if it will live up to all this expectation built up in my head.
